- why Mark choose this flight over all others
- what flavors to extract from whisky to pair a meal to
- what you liked!
We hope you can join us!

HOW TO REGISTER
Go to the "Contact Us" page to sign up or ask questions. Classes fill up quick - we have our loyal repeat attendees to thank for that!
WHAT WE PROMISE
- You will experience a variety of whisky from Scotland
- You will find new favorites to enjoy
- There is "Never A Dry Moment" during our educational tastings!
WHAT YOU’LL TAKE AWAY
- A gift bag filled with:
Tasting menu with: distillery, region, age, price and nose, palate and finish tasting notes
Educational handouts
A "wee" bottle to taste on your own
Each monthly program is different and the types of tastings are endless, so much so - we've never
duplicated a tasting yet! Here's some we've done and some scheduled for future tastings:
- one from each of the six regions
- all from one distillery
- sample of Scotch whisky finished in different casks, ie., run, sherry, red wine, port, etc.
- all of just one “type” of Scotch, i.e., all "fruity" or “peaty” or "all sherry casks", for instance
- blind tastings - this is where we don’t tell guests what they're tasting – letting their noses
be their guide until we reveal the bottle
- blind tasting of single malts vs. blends
- a range of higher price points vs. lower price points
- whisky from the newest distilleries and newest releases in Scotland
- Mark's favorites for the holidays
- tastings paired to food
... the list goes on
Can Mark be impartial when recommending Scotch and teaching?
Without question yes - Mark and the staff at The Whisky Shop aren't on commission - nor do they receive remuneration / kick-backs from any distributor, their sales staff or from the distilleries in Scotland. As Mark isn’t “beholding” to anyone (a very unique position in this city and business), he is able to freely mention all that the industry offers – thus truly conducting an unbiased tasting. Also important to know - Mark is not at your tasting representing or promoting The Whisky Shop. He is retained on behalf of Scotch Whisky Events.
We hope you'll join us soon!
** We offer a frequent attendee program - attend (6) six sessions in The Tasting Room and your 7th (sorry - not including pub crawls) tasting will be 50% off!
Thank you for your interest in Scotch Whisky Events!
